Summary

Zukae is a conceptual brand strategy project designed to redefine the instant noodle experience for the late-night crowd and those living at a fast pace. It’s a brand built for cravings, quick breaks, and the simple joy of a hot, salty, and flavorful meal that fits a modern lifestyle.

Challenge

The "Generic Cup" Cliché: The instant noodle market is flooded with predictable, loud packaging that all looks the same on a shelf. The challenge was to break away from the generic "quick meal" aesthetic and create something that feels like a collector’s item.

Visual Storytelling: Moving beyond just showing a photo of noodles, we had to find a way to infuse deep cultural narrative into a fast-food product without it feeling forced or overly traditional.

Balancing Old and New: We needed to merge old-school Japanese aesthetics with a modern, craveable vibe that speaks to today’s urban consumer.

The BlackDomino Concept
We decided to ditch the generic and lean into a bold, niche persona. We chose the Daruma doll as the brand's mascot—a symbol of perseverance and luck that isn't widely overused in the category.

Inspired by old-school Japanese graphic illustrations, we built a visual identity that is flavorful, bold, and modern. The result is a packaging and branding system that doesn't just promise a quick meal; it delivers a hit of nostalgia and high-end design with every cup.
